Is a World of Warcraft addiction the same as a Call of Duty addiction?

As far as I can tell, I can't see a difference. There are so many people who wake up every day and get on xbox live. Some people are engaged half a day or longer. Should we be comparing Xbox Live to World of Warcraft when it comes to playing it all the time? Can't Xbox Live cause all the side effects World of Warcraft causes?

1. Yeah they both take hours away off of your life.

2. I guess if you can be addicted to a bad game, then sure.

3. there is a reason why they call it world of war crack. wow is completly different and is much more severe lol

4. the game or console doesn't matter its all the same. its called game addiction and its effects are the same. it becomes an addiction when it starts taking over other parts of your life.

5. From personal experience, World of Warcraft has an incredibly immersive experience unparralelled by any xbox live game. Call of duty has a more repetetive experience, so people are more likely to become distracted. WoW is designed to always give the player something to do, which fuels a heavy addiction that, for me, lasted over five years. In my experiences, xboxes don't even last two years without getting the rings of doom, which hours spent playing CoD definitely does not help (red rings is often caused by warping of the motherboard, a result of overheating due to lengthy played time).

6. Everybody hates WoW and complains how bad and easy it is yet they keep playing, yeah, WoWcrack is worst than any other game addiction I would say.

7. Owning an Xbox and playing Call of Duty and owning a PC and playing WOW. I can tell you both games can be addicting, but hands down world of warcraft is the most addicting game you will ever play. You can not even like the game and still want to play it to so whats next. WOW has huge world to be explored millions of players to interact with, countless items, massive dungeons, Awesome raids. Trust me this game is much more addicting than any call of duty game.

8. No WoW is better because it's endless. Call of Duty all you do is shoot and die or shoot a lot and die or just die a lot.

9. yeah man I play both those games all the time! I wasted 46 days of my life on a single character on world of warcraft and people have actually played world of warcraft nonstop without sleep and died. Add me on Xbox live! Gamer tag: A Ninja Chiken (yes Im aware about the word Chiken)

10. Well, i guess regarding side effects, then yes. But is there actually any bad side effects, if a dude wants to waste his life playing CoD or WaW, let him. Or a girl, ofc. And if they love what they're doing, or playing, why not hmm ? Its a very contreversial matter, and yes, some people do need to get out more. But think, you get your kicks from... ? I dunno, golf, i get mine from gaming. And football of course :). But, i dont like games like WaW, tbh. So i couldnt get addicted to that. I used to be a big fan of runescape, but not anymore. I rarely play it. But anyway, yeah, they're kinda comparable addictions.
btw, i do get out and crap! im not addicted to CoD, i just like to play the game :)
Ps, i said Waw, I meant WoW.
